Description
Oxo-Biodegradable masterbatch is based on pro-degradant and pro-oxidant additives which is incorporated in single-use and disposable plastics aid in breaking the long polymer chains into short segments. These short oxidized segments are functionalized sites and micro-organisms can colonize and latch onto these segments and can metabolize and consume them as food sources. The resultant end by-products are carbon dioxide, water, and degradable organic matter called humus which can be assimilated in the natural environment.
Oxi-Biodegradable masterbatches are non-toxic in nature and can be added to single-use plastics made from PP, PE, and PS such as disposable ware, garbage bags, expanded Polystyrene cups, plates, clamshells, mulch films, etc.
